A Rare Masonic Collectible
This vintage napkin/letter holder will be a thoughtful and welcome gift for the Masonic collector or fellow sojourner on your shopping list! It would be perfect as a letter holder on your desk and would serve well as a unique paperweight/letter holder combo! In a dining hall setting it would be a nice addition also.
I'm not sure who or where this item was manufactured. It might have been a ceramic project by an individual. It is signed on the underside JBM 12/68. Perhaps it was a Christmas gift given to someone with the initials JBM. It is a mystery to me!
There are no chips, cracks, or hairlines. I detect overall crazing to the glaze, which often occurs in vintage pottery/ceramics due to age and care.
The shield on the front side has written in gold: IN HOC SIGNO SPES MEA. The four pointed star is in gold, as is the shepherd's crook. The cross is white.
The base measurements are 6 1/4" x 2 3/4" and it stands 4 3/4" tall. I'm sure that this item will once again be treasured by its new owner and I'm looking forward to shipping it out to you!
