EAPG classic design and etch 1890s
Plume was first made by Adams & Co as Adams No. 3 in 1890. When Adams joined the United States Glass Co in 1891 the design was continued by the combine. The designed is etched and rather simple in execution. The etch was apparently fairly common. Reilly and Jenks show it on the pattern in “Early American Pattern Glass”. This Compote is 9” in diameter and 8 1/4” high. It weighs 3 1/4 pounds before packing. I do not see or feel and dings or utensil marks. This compote has an impressive presence. All of my items are used and will show some signs of our ancestor’s normal use.
All of my items are used and will show some signs of our ancestor’s normal use. This is not damage like a chip or a crack. If use marks, in my opinion, are unusually noticeable I will comment on it.
