Wow - What a lovely find this was and it's a pleasure to offer it to you. I think it would go great in a variety of settings. It has a deco style with the stepped base, and I believe it would be perfect in a Hollywood Regency setting.
It is clearly marked Aladdin on the bottom in raised letters.
This is Aladdin Model G-41 which was made in 1949. The lamp is 13 1/4" tall to the top of the socket. The base is 3 3/4" across. An advertisement for this lamp reads:
"Delight your family and those guests with one or a pair of this gracefully designed model - with sweeping leaf and flower decorations lending a feeling of height and slimness. This lamp gives your room a feeling of distinctive sophistication."
The lamp does work. I would suggest replacing the cord for safety purposes. Other than doing a wipe down, I have done no cleaning. I detect normal usage marks and there is fading to the gold trim on the stepped base.
The only damage that I detect is a sliver chip on the underside base. You can see this in the picture of the base above. It measures about 2/8" in length and blends in with the base and is difficult to see.
The felt pads on the underside base will need to be removed or replaced. One is missing and they are worn.
I think that once you have cleaned this beauty to your standards, and replace the cord and pads, you are going to be extremely pleased with this great vintage item!!
