classic EAPG pattern
Jacobs Ladder was originally called Imperial by by Bryce, McKee & Company when it was introduced in 1876. Some of the pieces feature a Maltese Cross in the pattern. The pickle tray or relish is one where the open handle contains a Maltese Cross. This is 9 3/4” across the handles, 1 3/8” deep and 5 5/8” wide. The design is engineered with a 90 degree edge on the inside which has accumulated the anticipated nibbles from using silverware to get the contents. There are two small nicks on the underside of two of the ripples as shown at either end of the photo.
All of my items are used and will show some signs of our ancestor’s normal use. This is not damage like a chip or a crack. If use marks, in my opinion, are unusually noticeable I will comment on it.
