An Adorable Set for Your California Pottery Collection!
This little set is adorable. On the underside both pieces are signed Janie 1950 California. I have been unable to determine who "Janie" might have been or possibly worked for. The styling reminds me of several of the noted California Pottery establishments, and it's possible that Janie worked for or was associated with one of these ceramic houses. Perhaps the mystery will never be solved! I've had these on a shelf, attempting to identify the artist for several years. It's now time to pass them on.
I'm sure they will display well with your other California Art Pottery!
This small set measures:
The creamer is 2 1/4" tall measuring to the top of the handle. The open sugar is 1 1/2" tall x 1 3/4" across the mouth.
I detect overall crazing. The open sugar has two tight hairline cracks. These do not affect how they will display. I just want you to know they aren't perfect and I would consider these for display purposes only.
