A RARE TREASURE FOR YOUR COLLECTION!

Though worn and stained this book is an illustration of 50 of Frank Beard's great cartoons. This book is not a reproduction! Frank Beard was an American illustrator in the late 19th Century. He began illustrating for The Ram's Horn, which was a non-denominational Christian periodical published during the 1890s and early 1900s. Beard soon became the paper's principal writer and illustrator.

The Ram's Horn gathered 50 of Beard's illustrations into this book and called it 50 Great Cartoons and published it for their subscribers. Beard passed away in 1905 and the closest date that I can find for publication of this work is 1899. A hardbound edition was published in 1906. The book measures 12 1/4" x 9 3/4". It is stapled, and the staples appear firm. Additionally, the books is bound by three holes and a string. All of this is original to the text.

This will be a tremendous addition to any collection!

Remember, it is not perfect. The front cover page is missing a large portion. There are heavy stains on the first few pages, and then throughout there are minor stains appropriate with age. Several of the pages are torn. I believe you will find this a very interesting little book and will treasure adding it to your collection.
