Vintage! Vintage! Vintage!
This vintage Original Christmas Tree tab-handled cake plate was marketed by Plummer Ltd. of New York in the 1950s. Plummer's was a high-end department store that ceased operating in the early 1960s.
The Original Christmas Tree pattern was designed by Fredrick Cuthbertson in the 1920s to reflect an American Christmas. Mr. Cuthbertson sent the pattern to England for production and the Original Christmas Tree pattern was born and only manufactured by the finest of England's potteries.
It must be noted that over the years, the shapes and bodies of the Original Christmas Tree pattern have changed and colors of the decals from one period might not exactly match the colors of another period.
This vintage tab-handled cake or torte plate will be a wonderful addition to your Original Christmas Tree collection. I've scoured the Internet trying to find another one in this shape and have not been able to locate another one. So, please, don't hesitate to add this one to your collection! There are no chips, cracks, or hairlines. I do detect some loss to the green band and have provided pictures for your preview. There are minimal usage marks.
The plate is 11 1/4" across from tab handle to tab handle. I have other items in this pattern from the same era, so if I haven't listed them and you are interested, please, feel free to send me an email and I will happily work with you.
Your table will be beautiful with vintage Original Christmas Tree dinnerware added to your collection!
