Excellent Baker For Your Spring Collection!
This Denby oval baker, in the Spring pattern will make a welcome addition to your collection.
This pattern was designed by Albert College for Denby in 1950. I'm not sure when this pattern was discontinued as information is conflicting. Some sources indicate it was discontinued in 1958, and others indicate it was discontinued in the '60s.
There are no chips, cracks, or hairlines, and just the normal usage marks for this type stoneware and age. The design is nice and vibrant with no chipping or fading. The interior is matte white with the leaf and floral design. The exterior sides are gloss gray.
I have lightly washed this baker with a mild detergent, but it will still need a good cleaning. Since this is a handpainted design I wanted to be as gentle as possible.
On the bottom there are two paint/glaze drips that feel to be from the manufacture process.
The baker is 10 1/4" x 6 1/4" x 1 7/8" deep.
