Duncan #331 #1 biscuit jar with cover

Duncan #331 #1 biscuit jar with cover
This block pattern biscuit jar and cover are from Geo. Duncan & Sons 1890. It is shown in Bredehoft et al "Early Duncan Glass Ware" page 109 circa 1899. This is the biscuit that has the pattern all the way up. It is 9 1/2" to the top of the finial. 6 3/4" tall without the cover. The jar weighs 3 1/2 pounds before packing. I do not see or feel any dings etc. The base has been ground at the factory so that it sits flat and even. There are some areas where the mold may not have been fully cleaned leaving space lowere than the ground portion. Put this in a sunny window and the block miters will dazzle you.

All of my items are used and will show some signs of our ancestor’s normal use. This is not damage like a chip or a crack. If use marks, in my opinion, are unusually noticeable I will comment on it.
