Persian blue is a translucent turquoise color that Fenton produced early in their history, around 1915.
It typically is found in the Banded Laurel pattern which is an applied white enamel band of leaves that forms a circle or ring around the piece. Occasionally, it is found with no decoration as this piece shows.
This particular piece is the 4 1/2" Nappie in the 599 line. Typically it was a table service pattern and is frequently found in bowls, tumblers, creamer and sugar etc. But it is also found in this 4 1/2" Nappie, a larger Nappie, a puff box that has the same bottom as the Nappie and a vase.
It measures 2 3/8" tall 4 1/2" wide and is just under 2" at the base. the base has a star impression on the bottom. It is in excellent condition with no damage and minimal wear. Just a lovely piece of old Fenton history.
