GERMAN INTAGLIO OPEN SALT KNIGHT ON HORSE

Unusual German intaglio open salt, uniformed rider, perhaps a knight or uniformed military officer, on horseback enclosed in an intricate metal frame. The charger is rearing over a crown. The clear center is enclosed in a decorative frame, all backed with gilding on the under side of the glass. The piece is about 1 inch deep with an intricately stamped metal rim. The piece may be a master salt, pin dish, or ash tray.

Condition is excellent, no chips, cracks or rubbing to any of the surfaces. The metal rim is gilded inside and out.
