Perfect For Many Uses
This bowl will make a very attractive display item!
It is marked with the Royal Coat of Arms backstamp, H. Burgess, Burslem. Henry Burgess was an earthenware manufacturer at the Kiln Croft Works in Burslem, England from 1864-1982.
The bowl is substantial and would be ideal for many uses. It will coordinate with many antique ironstone patterns, be perfect as a fruit bowl. In the bath it would be make a wonderful display with rolled towels. I'm sure you can find many uses for this particular bowl. It's size offers you many varied display opportunities.
The bowl measures 14 1/2" across x 4 1/2" deep.
There is overall crazing, and a few small bumps and manufacture flaws. I detect no chips around the bottom or top rim. There are slightly darker crazing stains on the interior center of the bowl.
For this item being well over a hundred years old, I think you will be pleased with its overall condition! I'm sure you will find the perfect use for it.
