Perfect For Your Depression Era Glassware Collection!
This is a unique little vase by Hazel Atlas. I can't locate another one, so it must have been a short production or possibly and experimental piece.
The bottom is marked with the Hazel-Atlas trademark HA and K-851-6.
This green vase will be a lovely addition to your Depression Era glassware collection!
The vase stands 7 5/8" tall. The mouth is 3 5/8" across. I count 12 optic panels around the circumference of the vase. These are more pronounced at the base and taper to a more round form as you graduate up the vase.
There are no chips or cracks along the mouth rim. The flaws that I detect are manufacture flaws and are in the glass. There appears to be a strawmark type flaw that extends about 2 inches across a side seam. I believe these type flaws were typical.
This would make an excellent gift for the Depression Glassware Collector on your shopping list.
In Weatherman's Colored Glassware of the Depression Era 2 book, on page 118, I do find a wine decanter numbered K-865 that was shown in a 1930 catalog, so I would date this vase to the same time frame.
I think anyone would be pleased to add this to their collection!
