Limoges T & V Individual Open Salt

Here is a single, Individual salt, produced in Limoges France. It measures 1 7/8" across the bottom and 3/4" tall. The bottom is unglazed and marked.

This is one of 3 salts that may be part of a set however, each is different from either of the remaining 2 so I am listing them separately. I will be happy to combine shipping should any buyer choose to purchase more than one of them.

This salt is porcelain, and hand painted in a floral design. The shape is that of a bowl with the top tapering in slightly. The top edge is scalloped and enhanced in a medium green color The center features a cluster of 3 flowers in shades of blue, red and pink. The exterior is accented with 3 separate floral sprays, one in blue, one in purple and the final one in red.

It has a double mark that reads, in dark green, T & V in a rectangle with the word France below it and then in red a picture of a man with the initials S on one side ad M on the other with the word Limoges below. The red mark is similar to one used by Guerin - Pouyat - Elite but not quite the same. The numbers 2377 are in red on the bottom.

The T & V marks is credited to Tressemanes & Voight Limoges but it appears that it can date anywhere from 1892 - 1917+. I suspect this piece dates more to the end of that period and probably into the 1920s.

It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or nicks. There is no crazing and there are no repairs. There is a slight loss of the green paint at the upper edge on the high points of the scallops. The shelf wear on the bottom is well with what I consider to be normal for a piece of this age.
