Made in Japan Bisque Porcelain figurine Young Girl

This is a very nice, very well done figurine of a young girl sitting on her chair with her basket by her side and her book in her lap. She is dressed all in yellow from the ruffled collar at the neck of her dress to her tiny yellow slippers. Her hair is a light ash brown and is tied with big yellow bows.

I believe this little figurine has some age to it. The simple Japan mark usually indicated it was made after 1921 when the Japanese stopped using Nippon, however there is no "Made In Japan" marking which would indicate this predated 1912, which I do not believe to be the case. The facial expression is very similar to the portraits of children that date to the 30's and perhaps to the 40's but I tend to believe this predates WWII.

It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or nicks. There is no crazing and there are no repairs. She measures approximately 4" tall. The piece is marked with the word Japan in red on the inside of the basket.
