Miramar of California Mid Century Modern Pink Pottery Planter
Here for your consideration is a petal pink planter from Miramar of California. This piece is very indicative of the pottery produced during the 1950's and early 1960's in California. It is reflective of the mid century modern design fundamentals that were the hottest thing going during this time. It is angular and it has spikes. It's very straight lined, no curves, no softness.

Pink was popular as were aqua or turquoise and gray. Many kitchen themes were built around this color scheme and the potttery and the dinnerware of the era replicated those colors.

It measures 3 3/4" x 2 1/8" at the base. Across the top it it 7 7/8" x 6 1/8". It measures about 4 3/4" tall.

It is in good to very good condition. It has no chips, or cracks and there is no crazing. There is some discoloration on the interior, it is a planter. But there is no residue.

There are several tiny glaze nips or flakes where the glaze is missing. Most are in the inside of the piece but there are a couple on the outside. However, you really have to examine it closely to see them. One corner is rough and the glaze worn a Little more than the majority of the piece. None of these affect the integrity of the piece nor do they interfere with the aesthetics of it.
