Here are 2 handled bowls made by Western Stoneware or Monmouth Pottery. They are identical in shape and form the only difference is the color. One is a deep warm brown, the other is a more yellow gold shade.
They measure approximately 2 1/4" tall and 5" wide at the top of the bowl. Each is marked on the bottom with an embossed Maple leaf. There is no other marking on either piece.
They are in very good condition. The yellow one has no chips, cracks or nicks. The brown one has one slight nick on the exterior edge and a little flaking of the glaze in that area. It measures 3/16" long and less then 1/16" wide. The exterior of the brown bowl is rough and seems to have some added material to the glaze which makes it bumpy in some areas. Neither piece has any crazing and there are no repairs. There is some shelf wear on the bottom but nothing that can not be expected from pieces that date back into the 1940's or early 1950's.
