Here is a blue opalescent, chalice or Comport made in the Hilltop Vines pattern and produced by Northwood.
This piece is confirmed in the Northwood ads as early as 1906. It measures 5" tall. The base or stem of the comport consists of 3 branch like legs that flow upward to form the base of the bowl. The bowl is shaped from overlapping leaves that extend to within, approximately 1 1/2" of the rim. The upper edge is highlighted with a pure white opalescence that extends about 3/4" down into the bowl.
This piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or nicks. There is some scratching and a few rub marks. There are a couple of manufacturing imperfections in the glass, one looks like a "straw mark" and there are a couple of bubbles in the glass. The base does show wear scratching.
