Ornate Porcelain w/Gold Moriage Dresser Box Japan

The cover of this delightful, hinged box features a hand decorated cameo of a Victorian-era troubadour serenading his lady, in a gold moriage beaded frame. The borders and sides are decorated in sprays of gold embossed roses, on a creamy porcelain ground.

Dimensions: 3 7/8" high x 7" long x 5" deep.

Marks/Dates: Red "Made In Japan" in a circle with a Cherry Blossom in the center. Style and construction would suggest early to mid-20th century.

Condition: No cracks, chips or other damage. Adhesive around the inside hinge and latch have dried, though there is no sign of potential separation...just age.
