This exquisite, antique bowl features hand painted purple and white violets on a pale yellow background, with a heavy gold border. The footed bowl has a decorative, scalloped rim.
Dimensions: Bowl measures 8" in diameter x 4 1/8" high.
Marks/Dates: Green clover mark of Porcelain Factory Merkelsgrun (1912-1918), according to Rontgen's Marks on German, Bohemian and Austrian Porcelain. Though Merklsgrun also used a crown mark, this looks more like the importers mark used by P.H. Leonard of New York City around the same timeframe.
