Classically beautiful, this open salt is a smoothly curved bowl on a heavy raised base. The bowl itself is only 1" deep, but it sits on a 5/8" base that is hollowed and impressed with a fourteen rayed star. The glass is deep yellow in natural light, glows green under black light. Like all real vaseline glass, the green is visible in the deeper areas even in natural light.
It measures 2 5/8" wide, 1 5/8" tall, making it midsized for a salt. Condition is excellent, no chips or cracks except for a small annealing crack in the base rim. This is the sort of flaw that occurs in the making as the glass cools.
