Fantastic Find!
Wow! What a great retro deco-styled console set! This will coordinate with Vintage Retro, Art Deco, Hollywood Regency and many other design choices. Isn't it great?
I've spent hours trying to find another set and haven't been able to. It is shown in a 1954 Haeger catalog in the reference book by David Dilley, Haeger Potteries Through The Years, on page 84. I have to say it is an eye-catching set and does display beautifully! It is by far the nicest console set that I've come across. It will speak to you!
The console bowl is 15" across and the candleholders are 3 1/2" tall.
This set is older than me, so it isn't perfect, however, it has aged well and I think you will enjoy it for a few more years! There is a small chip on the underside base of the foot of the console bowl. Please review the picture of this area and you will see that it does not affect the display quality at all. There is a small glaze chip on one of the candle holders. I believe this can be touched up without too much trouble. The clay does not seem to be affected in this area at all.
All in all, I think you will fall in love with the chartreuse drip glaze on this set. It is the bee's knee and I don't think it gets any more retro/vintage than this! Don't hesitate to add this to your home decor or pottery collection! I did lightly wash these items, but they will need extra attention in the groves and well of the candleholder. I didn't want to risk damaging these items any further as I've clumsily broken two items today and thought I better get these listed and put away before I put them at risk.
