This "Biarritz" Limoges France Hand Painted Fish Plate is signed by the artist, "Lancy". Lancy was a known Limoges artist who specialized in animal and fish paintings.
The plate has two marks on its back, one green "Limoges France", and the other red-brown, "Biarritz SW Limoges France".
Plate measures 8 1/2" across and has gold banding that is 99% intact.
The Plate is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. Upon Very Close Inspection there is one scratch on the fin of the fish that measures approximately 1/8" in length. There is also a scratch (less than 1/16
') on the top of the fishes back. Bottom of plate has glaze pop that can be seen in picture of mark. The bottom rim also has usual shelf wear. This damage is only noted for accuracy and in NO Way takes away from the elegance of this piece.
