Satsuma Vase Style Table Lamp Porcelain & Moriage

This exquisite lamp was fashioned from a Satsuma vase. The vase is cobalt blue, high gloss porcelain, with a matte green panel around the center. The panel features a Goddess (Kannon) dressed in regal garb and surrounded by gold, and decorated in moriage (raised enamel). The lamp has a wooden base and brass or metal fitting.

Dimensions : The lamp measures 7 1/2" high, and the fixture adds 3 1/2".

Marks/Dates: If there were marks on the bottom of the vase, they are now covered by the wood base. The vase is from the 1920's-1960's, but the lamp appears 1940's or 1950's.

Condition: The colors on the vase are consistent and strong, with only occasional minimal gold rub. The lamp works and the wiring is good.
