Here for your consideration is a stunning footed comport from California Pottery Vee Jackson. This pottery was in production from the 1940's - 1970's.
The base color on this piece is a soft dusty plum that has a mottled effect to it. The rim and center of the piece are accented with violets and other purple flowers. The edge is enhanced with a gold rim. The finish has a high gloss to it.
It measures 2 7/8" tall and 7 3/8" wide across the top. The center is depressed. The foot is scalloped. It is marked Vee Jackson in gold on the inside of the base.
The piece is in very good condition with no visible damage. I see no chips or cracks there are a couple of tiny pin points of gold loss and there is a tiny bit of wear along the gold on the rim of the bowl. The gold on the foot is feathered but I see no loss. The base does show some wear.
